"Eerie, absorbing tales, edged in myth and lore... a fresh take on the supernatural."

Last summer, I returned to my old stomping ground, a small town in Saskatchewan that also happens to be one of the locations I based Vicarious, the prequel to Stealing Breath. This is a picture of the notoriously vomit-inducing ride, the Zipper. As a kid, I loved going on it, spinning in the air, nose-diving toward the ground at break-neck speeds. Just enough danger to make me feel wild and young and reckless. Now, not so much.

The Zipper ride is one of the settings in my prequel novella, Vicarious. It is here that Sarah finally confronts her cheating boyfriend, Tyler, and learns to accept and even embrace her empathic abilities. Oh, and did I mention she also manages to exact a little revenge on said cheating boyfriend? Yep, she sure does!

So, fellow bloggers, any real-life locations that inspired your fictional settings? Tell me about it, I'd loved to hear!

I deleted a scene in Love's Forbidden Flower that took place in the pastry school Lily attended. It was based on the one I studied at. I even started to work in my instructor. Sadly the book was in need of editing, and we all know what that means.

In the sequel, the back of Lily's shop will be based on the store in which I have my wedding cake business.

Write about what you know, right?
